Carlingford is the only place in Ireland that reguralry gets mini tornados or "Carlingford Kettles" as they are known locally. The phenonmon happens when wind from a certain direction races down the mountain and hits the water causing the mini tornados.
I knew there would be some on this particular day, but they are not normally this big, this one was over 70 feet high and 200ft wide, it only lasted for about 10 seconds but caused havoc with large stones thrown skywards branches ripped of trees
